Fluid: a substance that continually flows under an applied stress; smooth, poised, graceful. Fluid: the recognition that life is ever changing, flowing from one moment to the next. Fluid: greeting the unpredictability of our existence with friendliness, love and the knowledge that anything is possible.
Fluid Yoga, established by Kevan Gale in 2011, comprises a network of classes, workshops, trainings, retreats and community that invites practitioners of all abilities to embrace a fluid lifestyle.
Fluid Yoga Classes
Fluid Yoga classes dynamically link the flowing nature of breath with mindful, continual movement.
This heat-building flow not only increases strength and flexibility, but trains the mind to be more content and relaxed throughout difficult challenges on and off the mat. Fluid yogis embrace qualities embodied by the universal elements to become grounded and balanced, like the earth; graceful, like water; strong and pure, like fire; connected to their breath and mind with the clarity of air; and relaxed and rejuvenated with each journey into the spaciousness of savasana.
A sangha refers to the group of people who have dedicated themselves to the path of mindfulness. Historically, the sangha was a group of Buddhist monks — the idea being that while it’s hard to stay on a path alone, taking the journey as a group eases the way.
The Fluid Sangha creates a beautiful support network – it keeps us showing up to practice together, helps us find accountability for our personal asana and meditation practices, and gives us resources even when we aren’t close by one another. We stay connected through weekly practice and meditation, as well as reunions, events, classes, and social media – sharing what inspires and challenges us. We help each other grow and find success wherever our passions lead us.
One of the most valuable aspects of our Fluid Sangha is our mentorship program. Incoming teacher trainees are paired with a program graduate whose personal experience can serve both to enrich incoming students’ experiences and help them navigate the ins, outs, ups and downs of becoming a yoga instructor.
The Fluid Sangha stretches across the United States and beyond, to include Mexico, Canada, Australia and more.
